OBIT-Roland A. Campbell, son of Angus and Ethel (Duffy) Campbell
Roland A. Campbell Retired Detective of Wellesley, MA. Resident of Smithfield ME, formerly of Wellesley, passed away May 10 with his family at his side. Beloved husband of Janet A. (MacKenzie) Campbell. Devoted father of Michael Dulceak of Washington State, Douglas Campbell and his wife Joanna of Worcester, Scott Campbell and his wife Cheryl of No Attleboro, Carole Phillips and her husband Stephen of VT, Cynthia Campbell of Framingham, and Jeff Campbell of Natick. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Brother of Richard Campbell of TX, Frances Pelletier of NC, Joseph Campbell of MD, William Campbell of FL, Nancy Lauze of FL and the late Charles, Thomas and Arthur Campbell. Son of the late Angus and Ethel (Duffy) Campbell. Roland served on the Wellesley Police Dept. for 34 years, 17 of those years as Chief of Detectives. He served in the Intelligence Dept. of the U.S. Navy, he served on the Board of Directors and was a founding member of the N.E. Narcotics Association, past President of the Wellesley Policeman Patrol Union, Deputy Sheriff of Norfolk County, and the three time recipient of Whos Who Among American Law Enforcement. A Funeral Service will be held at George F. Doherty and Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington Street (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, Saturday, May 22 at 10:30 AM.
