Looking for any info on William Jasper Campbell Hayes. Born 4 March 1858 in Taswell, Hancock, TN. Died 18 May 1930 in Braggs, Muskogee, OK. Story is that he was born (illegitimately?) as William Jasper Campbell and changed his name to Hayes possibly because he was suspected of murder. He has a half-sibling named Watt Sam of Native-American descent. I have heard his mother's name given as Julie and/or Lowvernia b. about 1836 in Taswell, Hancock, TN. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
