Thanks David,my own research is based off DNA to my 4X grandfather.but beyond him I have found three possable leads,if I can find the connection to where they left Scottland for sure, then I belive the rest will fall in place. As I have stated before after talking with several DNA experts they believe that there is a 90% probability that I am either a direct line of Colin MacDuin or no further distance than a first cousin.according to the DNA signature they have on file for him.The fact that he is 900 years my predacessor and that there is a 4 marker distance between his and my DNA shows that my line and his are no farther apart than sharing the same grandfather with a 97% confidence. They also piont out that there are at least three different line's of McIver's (McKeever's).Two of those line's being of Scottish Lineage, the third being Irish. The A line of Scottish lineage being those of the Argyl Line. The other is the L line being more closely associated with the Isle of Lewis. Finally the Irish Line being more associted with Northern Ireland but with a different DNA signature to mine but still originating with Nail Of The Nine Hostages making it close but not with in the closeness of Colin MacDuin of the 11th century.Rather complicated stuff I know but you can see now why I am concentrating on the Scottish side.If I find anything interesting I"ll be in touch,I have come across so many ancient texts that it will take some sorting.Plus as your GGGGGgrandfather the Principal Niel Campbell said in the book of An Account of Clan Iver. That there were a few McIver's in Northern Ireland that were not related to those that were already there,Iam certain I am of that line who got lost.Happy Easter for the Joy of the Memory of his Resurection .Richard K McKeever Campbell.
