I'm still looking. Surely someone out there has some info. My John Watson Campbell born 5 March 1822 in N.C. according to census. He had a brother Daniel Campbell born in TN in 1828 and another one James born in TN in 1831. Sometime after that they went to Missouri and John, Daniel, and James were on the 1850 census of Dade Co., MO. John got married in Dade Co., MO to Hulda Wheeler 11 March 1849. John was in Scott Co., Arkansas 1860. Children; James Allen born 20 January 1850, Samuel Wheeler born 25 August 1851 MO, Daniel Marion born 05 Sept. 1853, Rebeca Jane born 14 Dec. 1855 MO, John Hosea born 08 March 1858 Scott Co., Ark., William Henry born 20 June 1860 Scott Co., Ark., Nancy Virginia born 09 August 1863 Grayson Co., Texas.
John Watson and Hulda Wheeler were in Wichita, TX 1880. John had died and Hulda was in the house with her daughter Rebeca McDonald Womack in Belcherville, Montague, TX in 1900. In the "Wheeler Cousins" book it states that John Campbell and Kate Watson both born NC are the parents of John, Daniel, and James. It shows no references or proof of anything. I desperately need something to go by. I cannot find a marriage anywhere for a John Campbell and Kate Watson. The name Daniel gets carried down quite a bit. The name Samuel was after Hulda's father. Probably look for the names John, Daniel, and James for clues. Thanks, Carol
