Duncan Campbell who emigrated to Canada in 1815
I have a family tree decending from Duncan Campbell, but nothing tracing him to Scotland. He travelled to Canada with his wife (unknown name) and his friend Allan McDiarmid (and his wife) on the ship "Dorothy" commanded by Captain Dent. The ship left Greenock, Scotland in June, and landed in Montreal later that year. The had lived in Breadalbane, Perthshire, Scotland prior to this. After they got to Canada, they travelled up the St.Lawrence to Cornwall, where they stayed the winter with friends. In the spring of 1816 they travelled north through Glengarry to Lochiel Twp, where they settled calling the place Breadalbane. Their children (Allan McDiarmid Jr. and Janet Campbell) married in 1841. If anyone has information on this family, I would greatly appreciate being able to trace my family back to Scotland. Thank you in advance.
