I'm not related to the Camp family at all but have seen your postings, regarding the family of James & Polly Camp, and I have a bit of information for you to explore. James Camp & Polly are on the 1870 Michigan Census, Roll 685-6, pg. 277, Lenawee, Hudson Tp. From this census, the estimated birth year of James Camp is 1799, b. New York State, & for Polly it is 1802. Polly is also shown as being born in New York State. They have what I would guess is a Camp grand-daughter, Mary?, 8,living with them.
Albert & Rhuhama Bristol and their family are listed on Roll 685-6, pg. 375, Lenawee Co. You mentioed that one of their children was named Harriet. Do you know who she married?I'm asking because there is a "Rhuhamah Myers", age 81(b. about 1789), in Massachussets, and she was living in the household of Hettie (born about 1849) and John Rarick (sp?). It was noted that Rhuhamah was living with her grand-daughter. This is found on Roll 681-2, pg. 561, Kent County, Sparta Tp. These census films are free to view online. I also have the index, showing county, towship, and pg. # for the Camp families who lived in NY State from 1810 upwards. I see that on the 1840 & 1850 Michigan Census Index that there's a James Camp living in Dover, Lenawee County.
Back in 1989, I was given the following information: "James Camp of Lenawee County, Medina, Michigan was born about 1799 and died in Lenawee Co. on Dec. 7, 1871. His wife, Polly, was born about 1805 and died Dec. 3, 1876. Two of their children that I am aware of were Ruhama Bristol and Henry Camp (1832-1918)".I checked the Michigan census and there is a Henry Camp, born New York State, listed as being 37 yrs. of age, & his family listed in Lenawee County, Medina, Roll 685-6, pg. 353.I think these leads are worth checking out.
