John Camp, Cherokees Ga.
Marion Farmer posted a query about John Camp being on Cherokee Land in Ga in early 1800's.This was Big-Headed John Camp, b. abt. 1785 and married toWinnifred Maddox. They had 9 childrenThere is a write up about this in the history books of the countyand it talks about a bear following the wagon from Jackson Co. to the Cherokee landsand John and the boys killing it and using the skin for their cabin door.Hopefully she will see this as it said that her message does not exist. If anyone can identify parents of Winnifred Maddox b. 1784 in Greenville SC, I would like to hear from you.John went to TX in 1850's with some of his children. They travelled on a wagon train.Families were Moseley, Allen, Sparkman, and Capps.Any information that anyone can add would be appreciated.June
