Thank you for the posting. Alexander [Hanna] CAMMOCK's sister Margaret was my great great grandmother, who eventually emigrated to Syracuse, New York USA, and is buried there.
Your information was very helpful. Some of mine differs from yours, as follows:
I show Alexander Hanna CAMMOCK [AHC] born 7 Apr 1841 (from a 2 May 2000 gedcom furnished by Neil Cammock). It could be that this later date was a christening date.
I have 7 children born to Alexander [AC] and Jane CAMMOCK, including Isabella (1 May 1851-11 Mar 1916). Isabella also emigrated and is buried in Syracuse. If AC died late in 1850, her birth in May 1851 would not be illogical.
I show James CAMMOCK born in North Shields, Durham [IGI (British Isles)]; and Davie born there 13 Sep 1868 (same source). All in all, I show 12 children born to AHC and Esther KELLY. If Davie was born in 1868 in Durham, only six follow sequentially, who could have been born in New Zealand.
I know of two versions of "Memoirs of the Camacs of Co. Down"; one, edited by Frank Owen Fisher, published 1897 in England, which runs 97 pages, and closes with language which suggests there is more to follow; the other by William Masters Camac, published privately in Philadelphia, 1913, 285 pages plus some appendices. Both require some study I have not yet given them.
Does your copy differ from these? Have you been able to affirmatively tie the families described in "Memoirs" to AHC and Esther KELLY?
Do you have any other information concerning the family of AC and his wife Jane GIBSON [or GIBISON]?
I appreciate your help.
