Once again I am indebted to the Cameron A-Team's diligent research and careful recording for a further probable breakthrough in discovering the identity of my ancestor, Allan Randolph Cameron (see two postings above). I would particularly like to hear from any Cameron or McLean descendants who could help. If you are able to confirm or correct any of the followinginformation, please contact me direct [email protected]
DONALD CAMERON/NANCY MCLEAN
Children born to Donald Cameron and Nancy McLean in Glendessary, Scotland (Kilmallie Parish Register)
Alexander b 1785
John b 1786
Ewen b 1791
Allan b 1804 – in Corpach (near Banavie)
ALEXANDER CAMERON 1785- ??)
One possibility for Alexander Cameron is:
Alexander Cameron married Sarah Farrar (1820), Point Fortune
Nothing further is known of Alexander
JOHN CAMERON (1786-1872) for descendants see below
John Cameron/Janet McLachlan signed an agreement (delaRonde #0884) in March 1832 to take control of Donald Cameron/Nancy McLean's property, undertaking to care for his parents.:
Rigaud, range 1 lot 43,44 Donald Cameron Senior of Rigaud and wife Nancy McLean donation lots 43 and 44 conc 1 Rigaud to son John with detailed stipulations re care of his parents.Donald had acquired property from Joseph Cliffe? April 1817.See Nolin # 642 ½ 1821 10 03
and #233 of Notary Deseves in 1834 regarding
John Cameron Senior of Rigaud farmer, renounces to the estates of Donald Cameron his father dead July 1832, and Ewen Cameron his brother also dead July 1832, and also Nancy McLean his mother also dead July 1832.
EWEN CAMERON (1791-1832)
It is likely that Ewen Cameron “dead July 1832” could be the husband of Jane Cameron both of whom died on the same day in “summer” 1832 and therefore the parents of my great grandfather, Allan Randolph Cameron.
ALLAN CAMERON (1804-??) Nothing further is known about Allan

“John Cameron from Lochaber, Scotland, was another pioneer, and he settled where W. R. Hemsley now lives. He died here in 1874, about 90 years of age. He had four sons and six daughters, of whom only one son and four daughters are now living. None of the members of this old and respectable family now remain here. Mrs. Cameron and her two daughters, Margaret and Sarah, removed to Arnprior not many years ago. Hugh, the son, and another of the daughters also live in Arnprior.”
