I purchased the subject undated photo of a street scene depicting a horse-drawn carriage parked in front of a tree-shaded house. There is a bearded man seated in the buggy and holding the reins. The photo, taken by William A. Pryor, La Crosse, WI, is identified on the back of the mount in period ink handwriting (note: words difficult to decipher are indicated by question marks):

"Home of Senator Angus Cameron
La Crosse Wis.
Mary Baker sister of Eliza Baker Gulick, Mary Falge's
great-great-great grandmother? married Sen. Angus Cameron
The was? Mary's Falge's great-great-great ?-"

Angus Cameron and his wife appear in a Public Member Tree posted on ancestry.com. This childless couple is listed in the 1870 Census data for La Crosse, La Crosse Co., WI; and the 1880 Census data for La Crosse (resided on Fourth Street), La Crosse Co., WI.

Angus Cameron, born 4 Jul 1826 in Caledonia, Livingston Co., NY, died 30 Mar 1897 in La Crosse, La Crosse Co., WI, was the son of Duncan Angus Cameron (1784-1868) and Sarah McCall (1788-1863). He graduated at Balston (now Albany, NY) Law School in 1849, and practiced law in Buffalo, NY until 1857, when he moved to La Crosse, WI, where he continued his practice until 1890. He was speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly in 1867; State senator, 1863-64, and 1871-72; U.S. senator, 1875-85.

On 21 Feb 1856, in Urbana, Steuben Co., NY, Angus married Mary Baker, born about 1834 in NY, daughter of William Baker (1791-1863) and Eunice Freeman Conger (1794-1881).
