DNA Kit #93864: James Grant Who Married Isabella Cameron
“Searching for ‘owner’ of Grant Kit #93864,
“GRANT Kit #93864 is tied to James Grant who married Isabella Cameron 9/9/1788.at the time of his marriage he was living at Mill of Tore (Blainain) in Glenurquhart west of Drumnadorochit. The DNA results show that James is descended from the Grants of Shewglie/Sheuglie but James’ father is not known. Two possibilities are Alexander Grant (The Swerdsman) descended from the second son of Robert Grant 2nd of Sheuglie and Colonel Hugh Grant of Moy descended from the first son.”
Some FamilyTree DNA experts were consulted for an explanation for differences or mutations between my brother and a known cousin’s test results. The following conclusion was reached: “These two men [my brother Kit 30499 and cousin Kit 121522] plus 93864 also share an 18 at DYS 570, so either these similar mutations are evidence of parallel mutations (in unrelated liens or they represent strong evidence of a common acestry linking them together at some time in the past.Given that when I sort one against our 130,000 man database that they appear to be closer together to each other than anyone in the system.I’m pretty comfortable that they are cousins even if you can’t find the paper trail (yet) linking them together.”
I have quite a bit of family history before our Grant’s came to Canada and have some links from Scotland which may interest the holder of Kit 93864.I am also looking for the hole in the brick wall. Please contact me at [email protected]
