John,

I tend to agree with you; it's quite possible your Camerons did come from NC. I seem to remember seeing the Kennedy and Sauls sirnames somewhere. You might try to do a search on Genforum for Bladen, Harnett, and Cumberland Counties in NC. These three counties had many Camerons who settled there directly from Scotland. And, a large number of these Camerons moved on to settle all over the country. My g/grandfather, David Neill Cameron left NC, and went to GA, settling there.

Another thing ... I know in SC, there is a town called "Cameron". Have you heard of it? I wonder how it got its name? Some ancestors could well be connected to the town.

I'll keep looking and please let me know what you find.
