Mrs. Elizabeth R. Thompson, ill since April of this year [1947] died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chester Bowden in Battle Creek Monday, November 17, 1947 at 4 AM. She had been seriously ill for several days.
Elizabeth Cameron was the daughter of John Cameron and was born August 23, 1873 in Artemis Township, Ontario. With her parents, she came to Michigan at the age of eight and remained in Huron County until she moved to Mikado Township 47 years ago. She and William Thompson were married June 22,1897 at AuSable, Michigan. Their farm home is in Harrisville Twp. They have seven living children, a son, William Robert Thompson having been killed in action in France, November 30, 1944.
Rev C. S. Brown officiated at the funeral services held at the Smith Funeral Home in Lincoln. Internment was in Mikado Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chester Bowden, Glen Buchanan, Harold Thompson, Burdge Ashton, Arthur Newman, Jr., and Arthur Newman, Sr.
Survivors beside the husband are four daughters: Mrs. Chester Bowden, Mrs. Arthur Newman, Mrs. Burdge Aston and Mrs. Glen Buchanan; three sons: Charles, John and Douglas; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Willibrandt of Cleveland, Mrs. Fred Reiman of Manistique and one brother, Frank Cameron of Gulliver, Michigan; twenty-four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
