My great-grandfather was Angus Simon Cameron, born April 16, 1835 near Antigonish NS at a small community called Attington Corners, according to my mother's cousin's oral history.
On the Ontario Death Registration, the parents of Angus were listed as Dugall Cameron and Katherine McDonald, both born in Nova Scotia. This of course was dependent on the knowledge of the person reporting, and I have no verification of their births in Nova Scotia.
As Pictou and Antigonish are roughly the same area of Nova Scotia settled by Scots from the highland clearances, I thought there might be a relationship with your ancestors, but both Cameron and MacDonald are very common surnames.
My great-grandfather worked first as a logger in Eastern Ontario near Prescott, then settled eventually in the farming community of Leamington, Essex County.
