Hi,
There were many different branches of the Camerons that settled in Kenyon Township but I am not really familiar with the interrelationships.I do know that a Donald Cameron mig. from Scotland c 1835 and settled in Dunvegan(ne of village of Maxville) and that another(and I think different) branch settled nw of Maxville at St. Elmo. Also, my aunt and her brother(first cousins to my Dad) descended through their maternal grandmother from a Cameron family that was located at Lot 37, Conc. 7, Kenyon, Ewan being a storekeeper and Alexander Cameron who later settled in Finch Township( my aunt's gt grandfather). My aunt, through her father, descended from my gtgt Donald Cameron, killed March 1809, therefore, making it difficult for genealogists to 'sort out' the entanglement!
Sometime during the next few months I want to go to Williamstown to the Archives there in the Johnson House to check out some Abstracts for Kenyon Township. The property Abstracts for Glengarry County are now in the Archives in Williamstown. The Abstracts often reveal family papers such as Wills, etc., so I shall try to check further for you re your branch at that time.
Sorry I haven't been more help to you at the moment. In the meantime do have a lovely Christmas and, hopefully, in the new year I shall be able to check out the Archives for you.
Sincerely,
Margaret Cameron
