Ellen, Thank you for your reply.I visited the sight of the McDonald Cemetary near Cameron. It is an abanded cemetary in the woods. There is one grave of Camerons, John Cameron who died on Jauary 1804. There are many graves of McDonalds and Denbys (sp?).Three other sources stated he was buried at BBQ Church, and his wife, Margaret Monroe was buried at Bluff Church on Little River.I have been trying to confirm these reports. The date on the grave at the McDonald Cemetary above was weather beaten, and I am reasonably sure of the January 1804 dates.
Let me know if you hear anything more on the "Hill Daniel" link as his brother. That, I have not heard.
I have heard that some did marry their cousins. This was caused by their strong Clan and "royal blood" factor to keep their lands in their names. It is also believed that the poor transportation of this time period of horse and wagon, and the extreme large families of the few settlers, that the selection was limited to the less fortunate financially.Regards...Archie..keep in touch.
