Mary: I don't think there is a match but here is what I have on the MacCaskills.
Our MacCaskill's immigrated from the Isle of Mull, Scotland to Virginia and New Orleans. William (b. New orleans 1813) and his brother Alexander immigrated to Cannington, Ontario in 1830 and established MacCaskill's Mill. They later moved to Beaverton.
William's father was was Alan MacCaskill from the Isle of Skye, a navigator who mapped much of the Pacific Ocean. He built Calgary Castle on the Isle of Mull after he retired. Story has it that he moved to the U.S. because he didn't like the climate on Mull but it may have been a political move since he was a supporter of Bonnie Prince Charles and anti Queen Victoria.
William and his wife Flora MacLeanhad 7 girls - no boys. Jane, b. 1835, d. Dec. 24, 1908 Beaverton Ontario. Married John Cameron February 14, 1855 in Beaverton. John and Janehad 9 children - Mary Margaret, Donald Malcom, John, Kenneth, Flora, Jane, Edith Anne, Harry Stuart and Alan MacCaskill.
Let me know if there is any fit.
