The patriarch of our family married Martha (Mattie)Camden, his name is Daniel Givens. They were married @1764. Daniel was b@1739 to 1745. The settled on an area in Virginia called Meadow Creek, not far from Sinking Creek, near New Castle, VA. The county is now named Craig County but was part of Botetourt Co. Our family records reflected that she was from Amherst and Augusta Counties, VA. Martha was also presumed to have been born @1740's, and died @1810 to 1822. They had 8 children with the following names: Annie or Anna Valinda Isaish Elisha Joseph Daniel Susanna This week I located a person who has a quilt with the name Sally or Sallie Camden and a town name of Bedford, Virginia on it. I haven't seen it yet, but will soon and yes I will take jpegs for all to see when I get their next week. This quilt would have been made in the late 1700's or very early 1800's. It is in excellant condition. Does anyone know anything about our family connections? Like who Martha's parents were? Brothers and Sisters? Where did the Camden family that settled in that area come from. Our Daniel Givens's family is mostly from Northern Ireland, CO Antrim it is believed. I think that Daniel was born in the Colonies. Daniel's father could be a George who had a Land Grant in the 1740's by Eagle's Rock, Virginia. Anyone interested in the Givens family, please contact me, I bought the 4 different books compiled about our family from Dorothy Hall Givens's estate.
