Sylvia, we've combined information before as we've been sorting out the Shields/Camdens. I believe that the fourth person on this list that you have as "Mary ???" is Mary "Polly" Shields who married John Sloan. I believe that they had the following children: Alexander Thompson Sloan b. 1806, James Sloan b. 1807, Mary Sloan b. 1809, Robert Moderwell (wonder if that should have been McDowell?)Sloan b. 1812, Jackson Sloan b. 1814, Rachel Sloan b. 1817, Martha Sloan b. 1819, and John Sloan b. 1822. I think Mary "Polly" Shields Sloan was born July 17, 1785, in Rockbridge County. I found one source that listed her death as Nov. 25, 1857 in Lexington, but I'd be willing to bet it's the same person.
