I have run into a dead end finding ancestors of my grandfather Joseph "ferdie" Fernandes- Camacho. He emigrated from either Portugal or Spain to the Millford, Connecticut, USA in the 1920's (I think) and started a church and a family. He married my Grandmother and sired my Father Harold Eustace Camacho, my Uncle Stanley and Aunt Carol. Joseph and my grandmother divorced and my Grandfather "Ferdie" as he was known, moved to southern California and started another family around 1945-1955 time frame. He apparently liked the name Carol so much he named another daughter there Carol. Much mystery surrounds this itinerant and perhaps self ordained minister. I cannot find any entry in the Social Security Death Notice records. Being a newbee at genealogy research, I am at a standstill with this branch in my family tree. Any clues would be appreciated.
