Based upon information from some members of the Peaslee family, it appears quite certain that the Joseph Peaslee and Mary Johnson Peaslee who immigrated to Massachusetts in 1638 were not immediately related to the William Peasley who married Anne Calvert, d/o George Calvert. Instead, there is good evidence that Joseph Peaslee was the son of a Robert Peaslee and wife Jane, wills proved in 1617 and 1619, respectively. This Robert Peaslee was a saddler in Chipping Sodbury in Gloucestershire.
