Addendum: I think Asa Calvert's father is John Calvert of Huntington Ridge in PW County. He married first Sarah Bailey then her sister and he died young, Helen surviving John(The second Bailey sister). The reason that I think this is the close association in the move to Missouri, ie, Cecilius Calvert who along with Asa and Ralls Calvert wind up out in Marion Co MO. Waddy thought that the Martin Calvert was a cousin and this would seem correct as Asa was b 1775 circa and Martin 1785. A big investment gain in data and association for Martin would be to obtain the Asa Calvert marriage record which shows that Martin witnessed the marriage. My question here is related to Martin and his family(ies). Looking at what I know now: Someone is looking for James A Calvert being the father of James Franklin Calvert. This threw me off. I believe that James Franklin's father is Martin and this is pretty well demonstrated. I don't know that Martin was Martin A(sa) or not. Sylvia WHitaker affirmed the contention that Martin was in Boone Co IN by 1820 via Census (Martin W 1820) We know that Nancy Elizabeth in census says born IN but early daughter Ruth born KY I believe. Martin b 1785 and a tenative marriage date of 1814 to 1818(Ruth born 1819 and Nancy Eliz. born 1822? 1829?) indicates that Martin had a family before Elizabeth Cox to me. It is also possible that Elizabeth married a Martin before she married Martin Calvert(Elizabeth Martin Cox is what I found from one family descendant as Eliza. name). I show a marriage date for 1814 from one family record of 1814. Ruth could be a daughter of a first marriage or the second but it seems improbable that a Martin would not have been already married by 1805 or so, giving room for children via a first wife through to the death? of that wife and the marriage to Elizabeth Cox. Further is the connection of Martin to PW Co Calverts as he witnesses the marriage of Asa Calvert, likely son of John Calvert and Sarah or Helen Bailey, daughters of George Bayley(s). Cecil Calvert son of John moves to Marion Co MO as does Asa and there is a Ralls Calvert present there as well. They first move to KY which Martin does as well but Martin goes up to IN and dies before 1850. Sylvia queried as to how we know the Elizabeth Calvert in IN Census 1850 and 60 is the wife of Martin Calvert, now a widow? David Notify Administrator about this message?
