I have found Martin Lewis Binion in 1860 census of Barry Co. MO, Sugar Creek Twp. so family was there in 1860. From what I have, Martin Lewis had a wandering streak and the family was in Ft. Scott, KS for a time, as well as Indian Territory. I also show that Martin Lewis was taken by bushwackers when his son Salomous was less than 2 weeks old. He was home on leave from the Union Army. I am interested in the Binion family because of its connection to the Browning family, some of which is unclear. Apparently they were connected in some way to David C. Browning family of Verona, Lawrence Co. MO.
