Am searching for John wesley Calton who married Arminda Josephine Ross on Aug 9, 1861 in Rossville, IL. They later moved to the Lawrenceburg area of TN. Arminda died in 1913 and John died in 1921. Their 9 children are:
1. Virginia Calton,died at age 3 yrs. Buried in IN.
2. Sadie Calton who married 1st William Sutten; 2nd Charles Ramsbottoms. In 1951, she was living with Grandson-in-law outside Murfreesboro, TN
3. Carl Calton, died at age 11; buried in IN.
4. John Calton ;married Artie Downing in 1892.
5. Nora Calton; married Christian Guessler Nov 15, 1890; lived near Lawrenceburg, TN and both died in 1940. Had two children; Josephine and Frederick.
6. Elmer Calton; married Alice Knell; lived in MO.
7. Ira Calton; maried Ella Brown. He was badly burned in a coke factory fire and died several years later in 1911. They had 3 children, only 1 known, Roscoe, who married Hattie Chambers and lived near Lawrenceburg, TN
8. Mary Calton; married Walter Kidd.
9. Myrtle Calton; married James Kidd.
The parents of John Westly were Sarah and Henry T. Calton, who moved to Lawrence county, TN in 1884. At the time of her death, Feb 4, 1905, only two of her children remained...John Westly, our subject, of south central TN and Rev. Henry N. Calton of Burlington, IN.
Govenor Handley (of IN?) was her nephew.
