1870, 1880 and 1900 Tamaqua, Schuylkill Co., PA census records show that her parents were William Callaway and Annie Ellen Carter. Annie Ellen Carter was born in England.

1850 Wilmington, New Castle Co., DE and 1860 Tamaqua, Schuylkill Co., PA census records show her grandparents to be James and Mary A. Callaway.

James Callaway was a brass moulder and William Callaway was a Dry Goods Merchant.
