In relation to Henry Duncan Callow, who was a g/grandfather of mine, I can supply the following information, which is also available on Rootsweb, where I put it some years ago:-

Henry Duncan Callow married Jessie Horton, and one of their children was Edith Rose. She married my grandfather, Frank Moore, s.o. Francis Treadwell Moore of 120 Cornwall Road Lambeth. The following is a direct copy of what I put on Rootsweb, and I would be delighted to hear from anyone who can give me further details. Many thanks in advance:-

This is from the 1881 census discs, relating to my own MOORE
family, and also the CALLOW family to which I am closely related:-

The Thomas MOORE, Head of household, was the son of another Thomas MOORE,
1815-1850, b. and d. in Lambeth. Francis T (Treadwell) MOORE, the eldest
son, was my great grandfather, and although he is listed here as being a
lighterman, like his father, he later joined the Metropolitan Police.
Thanks to Spike, another kind soul, I now have his police record.

Can anyone help me get back beyond Thomas MOORE, 1815-1850? Who were his
siblings, parents, etc.?

Turning to the CALLOWs, Henry D (Duncan) CALLOW was another of my great
grandfathers; Annie R Callow lived on to 106, and died in 1957 (or
thereabouts).

My questions are these:-

1 - Could some kind soul please try and find out for me what the names are
that correspond to the initials above?

2 - If you have access to the 1891 census, would you please look up these
people and tell me what their circumstances, etc., were?

3 - If you have access to the 1861 census, would you please look up the
Callow family, and tell me who Martha's husband was?

The Moores lived in Lambeth to start with, later moving to Wood
Green/Tottenham. The Callows started in West Ham, later moving to Forest
Gate.

To give you some information about what you should find - in 1891, Francis
Treadwell Moore would be married to Elizabeth, with children Thomas, Frank,
Emma Matilda and May (Elizabeth?). Henry Duncan CALLOW would be married
and living in Forest Gate, with children including Edith Rose (my
grandmother, who married Frank Moore above), Dolly (possibly short for
Dorothy), and various other siblings.

Obviously, if anyone else has family trees that link with mine, I would be
delighted to hear from them.

A very long list of requests, but I shall be more grateful than I can say -
and so will my family - if anyone can help.

Stephen Moore
