Thanks for the info, pretty sure we're talking the same James H.L. I saw on Ancestry.com a listing for Anne Lord's family in the 1881 Census. Her bd is listed abt 1871 in Liskeard, parents, George born abt 1823 in Menheniot, Cornwall and Jane Lord born abt 1829 in Plymouth.

A listing in Rootsweb has a Jane Cowling b. 1829 residing in Plymouth with husband George Lord b abt 1823 in St. Cleer Cornwall. The listing shows a son, John Lord born in Wales(?). Don't know if this is the same family.
