(I have left in the incorrect words and spelling except in the case where the words contained an f where an s should have been)
In the 1820 census Spartanburg Dist., SC Asa CALICO is listed as between 26 and 45; female 26-45; 1 male to 10; two males 10-16.
In his will of 1804, John Palmer gives to the heirs of his daughter Elizabeth (Palmer) Calico $303.He also has daughters Frances Prewitt (married to Alexander) and Mary Prewitt (married to Obediah). It is possible that Asa Callicot is her son, but I'm not sure.
In his will of 1852 John Pruitt ( son of Obediah and Mary Pruitt) leaves a small amount of money to "William Calicoate's Four children that he had by Mary Smith...."
John Pruitt's sister "Ony" was married to James Smith.
I've been trying to sort these people out, but the Calico/Calicot/Calicoat/ etc. seems to be particularly difficult.Would appreciate any information about these people.
