I am seeking information and hopefully to contact any descendants of Enoch Callicott (born abt 1853 and died Oct 16, 1930 in Montgomery Co, NC)and Adalade Victoria Thayer (born Apr 15, 1860 and died Dec 25, 1889 in Randoloph or Montgomery Co, NC). Adalade is buried in ElDorado, Montgomery Co, NC. They are believed to have had five children: Walter Lyndon b abt 1879, Clarence Mendenhall b abt 1881, Herdis Benjamin b sept 1883, Florence Josephine b July 1886, and Hattie Lee b April 1889. Adalade was the daughter of Kendrick and Martha Graves Thayer. Kendrick was killed during the Civil War in 1863 and was buried in a mass grave in Wilson, NC. Kendrick was the older brother of my own grandfather Nereus M. Thayer. I believe that these Callicotts probably lived in the Ophir area of Montgomery Co. NC, but also could have been in Randolph Co. Any help will be appreciated!
