Who are the 3rd Son & 4 Daus. of Michael Callan & Mary Ann Wedaman?
I have that Michael Callan and Mary Ann Wedaman and 6 of their children arrived in Baltimore, Maryland from Dundalk, Ireland, on 22 August 1844 aboard the vessel "Luconia". They settled in Georgetown. Their sons attended Georgetown College. Does anyone have how I can get additional information.
I read 3 Aug 1881 article on Michael Callan on his 100th birthday saying he was Georgetown's (Washington DC) oldest citizen. In the article he stated his longivity was due to the fact he had never had an alcoholic drink. He also said he had 3 sons & 4 daughters (3 in Georgetown & 1 in NY). The daughters would be there for the celebration, but the sons couldn't leave their businesses. He also stated his wife had died almost a year earlier at the age of 65.
I have quit a bit of information on two of Michael Callan (b. 1780 Black Rock, County Louth, Ireland-d. 1884 Georgetown, Washington DC) and Mary Ann Wedaman's (b. 1915 Dublin, Ireland-d.1880 Georgetown) sons Michael Maximus (called MM or Peter) Callan (10 children) and Capt. James Joseph Callan of Coleman County, Texas. James Callan married my great aunt Margaret Jane Sheen (dau. of my gggrandfather John Sheen and gggrandmother Mary Ann Davies of Wales, 12 children).
Is the 3rd son Christopher C. Callan who left Georgetown to fight for the confederacy? Is 1865 Justice of the Peace for the District of Columbia Nicholas Callan related to Micheal? Does anyone know the names of the 4 daughters of Michael and Mary Ann Wedaman?
Any help with this family who be appreciated.
