Ellen,
I know of a John Callaghan (three over the years) in my (O) Callaghan family. The first migrated to USA/Canada and, according to family myth, joined the North West Mounted Police abt 1870s 1880s in Canada but seperated from his wife later. Cornelius had a Son named Timothy b Cape Town 1861. Tim later had a Son named John B London UK who was a lawyer to the Midland bank. He had a Son named John who was a successfull London hair dresser to the royal family.

Could you please give me any names, locations, dates etc for your john or other family. I am consolidating my collection of (O)Callaghans from the Mallow area and can mail you a disk in a few weeks. There may well be a tooth or a family link.

Kindest Regards
Richard
