Callaghan, White, Carver connection?

In the 1870 Census for Nodaway Co., Missouri (Roll 795, Book 1, page 566) is an entry for
One household:

===
Name Age Birth state
White, Joseph 47 Ohio
Laura E 31 Ohio
Mahlon 17 Ohio
Wm W 12 Ohio
Callaghan, John 9 Illinois
White Lena 5 Ohio
George 3 Missouri
Carver, Rhoda 55 Ohio
Albert 19 Ohio
Lorenzo 11 Ohio
===

Joseph and Laura are my Gr-gr-grandparents and I’m trying to figure out the rest of the relationships.

I know (from obits, etc.) that Lena and George are the eldest of Joseph and Laura’s children.

Who are Mahlon and Wm W? Perhaps nephews?

Is Rhoda the mother of Laura? Laura does name some later
children, Rhoda and Albert, so perhaps Albert and Lorenzo are Laura’s brothers?

John Callaghan is a complete mystery.

Any help will be appreciated.
