My great grandmother was Alice Calladine who was born in the early 1870's. She married 4 times, Joseph Marriott in 1888 at Basford (not yet confirmed), George Henry Dexter in 1895 at Ilkeston (confirmed and she gave her age as 25 and was a widow), Frederick Ogden (my great grandfather) in 1915 at Grimsby and, although I have yet to find the marriage, Harry Payne in 1928 or 1929. Frederick Ogden died at Grimsby in 1927.
My grandfather, Charles Joseph Ogden, was born in 1901. I can find no trace of Alice in the 1901 census, but her 'husband' George Henry Dexter was living back with his parents in Ilkeston at the time of the census.
Alice died in 1932, when her age on the death certificate is given as 56.
Alice gives her father's name as John Calladine. I believe that she may have been the daughter of John and Ellen Calladine (nee Wain) who were living in Kilburn in Derbyshire in all censuses between 1871 and 1901.
Does anybody have any further knowledge on this family.
