What a great web page! I only wish all genealogy pages were so well researched and full of context.
Two comments:
I saw no reference to Thomas Caloun, Indian Trader in your discussion. Maybe I missed it. Thomas supposedlydescended from Gent. Charles Colquhoun of Letterkenny.
(I have never seen any reliable documentation of Charles' sons.) However starting with his supposed grandson, John Calhoun of Chester/York Cos PA (1705 -1752) PA civil records show that John had a son, Thomas Calhoun the notedIndian Trader, who left the Pennsylvania frontier after Pontiac's Rebellion and came with his brother to NB where they both drowned in a river accident. I believe Thomas left descendants in NB.
Also in regard to the 1733 emigration of James Patrick Calhoun, there is an old legend that they landed at Providence RI--142 Calhouns and relatives.
I wrote a draft report on Calhouns of Western PA to be updated in the next month to include both of the above subjects. It is incomplete at present.www.westerly-journeys.com/genealogy/JohnstonCalhoun.html
