John CALHOUN/COLHOUN merchant, Franklin Co., PA, c. 1778
I have been trying for years to clear up a collateral line in my THOMSON ancestry.
Found information today, Apr 4 2013,taken from the Pennsylvania Archives, 5th Series, Vol. 6.
In brief it tells of a John CALHOUN [have also seen the surname spelled COLHOUN] who was a merchant and served under Capt. James Young in the Rev. War.His first wife was Agnes THOMSON [archives spell it as ThomPson], and his second wife was a Mary UNKNOWN.Eleven children are listed, eight of whom were possibly born to his first wife, Agnes Thomson.
Would like to hear from anyone researching this family.
Note:There is also a Doctor John Colhoun found on ancestry.com, but this is NOT the person I am researching.
Thank you.
Marybeth C.
