Calhouns in NC and Georgia
Has anyone come across a Noah Calhoun in NC or Georgia in the period from 1765 to 1815?
Noah Calhoun was born in North Carolina (according to his sons and census records) about 1765.He later moved to Georgia and then into Spanish Florida before 1820.He had a land grant from the Spanish which was located near what is now Dixonville inSanta Rosa County, Florida and just south of the Alabama line and he died there in 1847.He was married to Elizabeth Anne "Baggett" (B:1780& D:1829) but he may have had a wife before Elizabeth. His sons were named James C., John C., William and Roland. On several census records both James and John indicate they were born in Georgia but that their father was born in NC.
