Vera's research was done many many years before the internet. Most of her info was from family stories and interviews with older family members and neighbors who had known the family for years.I used her research as a beginning for mine.I have no proof that they came from Scotland in the early 1800's, only her notes.I reference her notes because there is usually essense of facts that I need to document or correct if necessary.
The Wilson name was from family stories I believe.Drusilla's daughter, Elmira Elizaabeth Calhoun may have been the child of a Wilson. That has not been proved.I've found no documentation yet.I have disproved the storythather parent(s) and siblings were killed by the Union soldiers during their march through Georgia. It is still a good story, though.
