As I read some of the postings about Calhouns, I realized that my ggggm Nancy Calhoun Love was a part of many family groups. For example, she was b. abt 1787 in Abbeville Sc, a daughter of Esther Calhoun Love and Wm. Love. Esther, her mother, was a close relative of VP John C. Calhoun. Esther Calhoun Love then was in Ky. There my ggggm Nancy C. Love married Issac Brown. Their dau. Minerva Brown then married Peter B. Cook in Jefferson Co. Ala. where other Calhouns were for a while. Nancy C. Love Brown, husband Issac Brown and dau. and other family members moved to Greene Co. Ala. where other cousins had moved. Nancy Calhoun Love Brown stayed there, but her dau. Minerva Brown Cook and her family went to Noxubee Co. Ms. Now I understand why, there were Calhouns there, possibly related to her mother? Nancy C. Brown and Issac Brown died in Greene Co. Ala. Hope this helps Calhouns in those areas. Jane.
