I have only recently come across information that seems to tie another sister into what we thought we knew as the sisters and brothers of our Montgomery bunch in the US. and that sister seems to be John C. Calhoun's grandmother, Catherine Montgomery Calhoun, wife of James Patrick Calhoun.
according to several researchers, they have her connected to my Mary Montgomery who m. James Patterson, as well as to James Montgomery (m. Anne Thompson), Jane Montgomery (m. James Ramsey), and Thomas Montgomery (m. Mary ?).
all said to be children of a Hugh Montgomery and a Jane Edgar or Hamilton or Patrick. beyond that it gets even more doubtful.
what I was actually hoping was that someone had actually done some accurate research on this line, given that it is a Vice Presidential line. something that was based on more than wishing we could make two pieces of a puzzle that don't fit together fit together. :-/
I know this is not the Montgomery forum, but was hoping that someone here had indeed researched this line on the VP. or knew where I could find accurate research, because if she IS indeed a sister, it would certainly help the rest of the line as well!
