Had the good fortune over the years to travel for the government (ours) and, on occasion, made a side trips to Scotland to see why my ancestors left. First trip to Luss was in 1984. The Ross Dhu didn't look then like it does now. During a later trip I was afforded the opportunity to wander around as the renovation and transformation was underway. Since there was a lot of tearing down going on, I saved many examples of the wallpaper and some odds and ends that were being thrown away. Of course, many many pictures. Haven't been back since it became a golf course although I understand why that happened. It's a very beautiful place. Peaceful, quiet and better than your imagination could hope for. For all of those of us who are privileged to call ourselves Calhoun’s - thank you to those who have kept it so.
