Sir,
I am sure your rendition of Sir Ivar's coat of arms is wonderful, but please correct your interpretation.Clan Colquhoun does not exist, as it was disbanded with the other highland clans in the 1700s, and Clan Colquhoun Society - which does exist, has no right to distribute Sir Ivar's coat of arms for profit. The armaments of the Chief of Clan Colquhoun are held by an individual. Clan society members are entitled to use the crest surrounded by a buckled belt to indicate their membership in the clan society, and to use any rendition of the armaments of Sir Ivar, so long as they clearly identify the arms as belonging to the Chief, and not the clan society.
The unauthorized use of the various marks of the armaments belonging to Sir Ivar would in Scotland be prosecuted through the courts by the Lord Lyon. In America, we have no tartan police, so many people freely infringe on heraldric rights without concern. But I urge you to consider that you are violating the equivalent of a copyright or patent by distributing the coat-of-arms of Sir Ivar without consent.
