Hello Cousin Gerald!
I just found your message, and I believe we are looking for the same Calhouns! The Mary
Calhoun you mentioned being married to Willie
Brunson, is my great-grandmother. Willie Brunson would be Mary's 2nd husband. Felix Williams was her 1st husband,as far as I know. I have W.W.Brunson's name on my grandmother Belle Elizabeth Williams birth certificate application in 1943. Elizabeth's husband (Ocel Bratton) was killed on the job
while working for the RR. She needed proof of her birth certificate to apply for RR benefits. She applied for her birth certificate in VanZandt Co.Tx and W.W. Brunson signed the document stating she was who she was. I have been having a very hard time trying to trace Mary Calhoun. I have been on the same tract as you, I thought Robert Russell Calhoun and Mary Hill were her parents.(my father's 1st name was Russell,so he must have been named after his grandfather
Robert Russell Calhoun)
At the time of my grandmother Belle Elizabeth
Williams birth Feb 4, 1892 Kaufman,Tx
her mother Mary Calhoun Williams was 36 years old, (I figured she was born abt. 1855)and father Felix Williams was 61 years old. It also states Mary had 5 living children including Belle's birth. I have no
idea who Belle's siblings names were, except
her half brothers from Felix Williams other marriage. I heard through the years that there were twins on my grandmothers side and also Mary may have been a teacher, but I'm not sure.
I am anxious to hear from you!
Sincerely,
Debra Weatherbee
