I take it from your response that there is no known marriage record proving that Rebecca's surname was Posey.I am aware that one of Rebecca's children bore the given name Posey, but I myself have never been able to find a record proving the child was named for a grandfather rather than merely named for the eminent local Baptist preacher.Humphrey Posey started a lot of Baptist churches in the western NC area and got a lot of Baptist children named for him (such as my great-great grandpa Humphrey Posey Brown). When Humphrey Posey started the Cowee church, he was aided by Jacob Caler and his son George F. Caler (Caylor). It is my understanding that the minutes of the COwee church frequently mention the Caylor/Calers in the 1830s.Elder George F. Caylor later movedto Grayson County, Texas (he left NC in 1849, arrived Texas - via brief stop in Georgia - in 1851 or 1852).George F. Caylor was also a renowned Baptist minister, although little recognized as such in the state of his nativity.
