Asking Caldwell Family members to help solve a mystery from 1923.
This involves Hazel E. Caldwell born about 1906 in Kansas and would have been 17 in 1923. She was to marry Jay Gerald Myer born 19 November 1903 in Iowa but grew up in Kansas around Iola. He was stationed in Wichita Falls Texas for a short time. They sent wedding invitations showing a picture of both and inviting family to their wedding on July 4th 1923. According to Jay's story they did marry in Denver,Colorado. Hazel became ill and died shortly after. There is no death certificate in Denver to collaberate this at all. One Hazel Caldwell we found was born in 1906 in Kansas, lived in Texas w/family in Wichita Falls and returend to Kansas, marrying a Herla Rush on July 4th 1923????? This family says no connection. All the family wants to know was the marriage prevented to Jay Myer or did it really happen? Are there other Hazel E. Caldwells born in 1906 Kansas, and married 4 July 1923? Please can you help the 93 year old younger brother of Jay Myer solve this mystery once and for all. We cannot change the past or change people's feelings back in 1920 when all are gone or hear their story, so am asking for help from the Caldwell community. I have a invitation with the photo.
Thank You
Barbara
