I'm still looking for Ferguson CALDWELL born 1799 in VA married to Lydia Angeline SHIREMAN (SHERMAN) in Hardy Co., (W) VA Oct 1922. After her husband died in a horse accident she had a son she named after him Ferguson John CALDWELL born 1946. In 1856 her son Levi and new wife moved to Jonesboro, Washington Co., TN. Where the new wife Mary BASHOR had relatives living. I think this is when she moved her and the few children at home with them to TN. Where she died after the Civil 1864 War. A few years ago a cousin went to TN and found where Young Ferguson had changed his name to John Ferguson. Now the Civil War letters I have make sense when they always talk about J F did this or J F was in prison. Or how much help J F was helping with a mans crops that could not do it all.
John married Mary "Elizabeth" FINE in 1866. I was able to find them with the wrong spelling which is normal on the census COLDWELL on the 1880 census but after that they and there 7 children are just GONE? Is there anyone out their that can help?
