I have a NANCY ANN CALDWELL, born 3-29-1849, daughter of WILLIAM CALDWELL and MARTHA ANN ?. Do not know what county? I have JAMES
CAMUS CALDWELL who married SALLY CECIL - were on the Lee County Census for 1840 but were in Scott County, by 1850. Since CALDWELLS related to one another tended to live by one another, I am assuming their might be a connection.

If you are thinking your MARTHA CALDWELL, was a daughter of JOHN CALDWELL - others have MARGARET BURGESS as the wife. I have
learned in talking to another CALDWELL researcher, TEbel3888, has the bible records for Old Stone Church (Ft. Definance - near
Staunton) Augusta County, that might be helpful to you, in confirming a birth, marriage, etc. Understand these CALDWELLS
were from Lancaster County, PA and left because of problems with the Dutch Reformed, also in Lancaster Co., PA. There is also an Augusta County site on the USGenWeb for that county on the VA map section you may wish to access that might be helpful to you. If this should be the JOHN CALDWELL, Father and wife MARGARET PHILLIPS, there is some info on this line in the CALDWELL history accessible on the Geocities Website for CALDWELLS. My direct line of CALDWELLS went to Russell County, VA (formerly Washington) and left about 1830 to go to IL.
