Caldwell family Dade Co. Mo.

Can any of the Caldwell researchers help me find information about a Caldwell family who lived in Greenfield, Dade Co., Mo., early 1900's? My grandfather had an older sister, Mamie Godfrey, who married Frank A. or O. Caldwell in Nov. 1906; they had two children, a son and a daughter--Juanita and Frank.
I found in the 1910 Dade Co. Census that she was listed with both children and as head of household. On the 1920 census her children were listed with her parents, John Nathan Godfrey and Laura Belle Nickell Godfrey.
I haven't found why she was listed as head of household or why her children were listed with her family in 1920.
Perhaps, I have looked through so many books, etc., that I'm not seeing the forest for the trees. I haven't found whether he died, they got a divorce, or why she wasn't also living with her parents in 1920.
If anyone is researching this line or if her children are still living, would someone come to my aid with the answers? Thank you very much.
