I wonder whether it is derived from Latin - Cald. Why have a cold-water-well. Are the warm water ones. Like Elephant and Castle in London from L'Enfant de Castile, I suspect this is a morphed name from way back for people like smiths or something dealing with something 'hot' as in cald-caldera-cauldron-calderium(roman hot baths). Caldaria, from calidus hot - Latin. Notify Administrator about this message?
