Michael,I have scant information on my Caldwell line beyond my ancestor Hugh Caldwell (b. 1/1/1816 [possibly in Tennessee], d. 3/17/1891 [I believe in Alabama]). Hugh settled his family in the Tuscaloosa area of Alabama and had his 12 children there. This is the information that was given to me: 1. Alexander Caldwell (b.?, d.?) m. ? 2. Absalom Caldwell (b. ca. 1788, TN; d.?) m. Hannah ? (b. ca. 1790, TN, d?.) 3. Hugh Caldwell (b. 1/1/1816, d. 3/17/1891) m. Elizabeth Parsons (b. 8/24/1823, d. 9/30/1901) 4. Hulda Caldwell (b. ca. 1821, d.?) 5. James Caldwell (b. ca. 1824, d.?) m. Csebia A. (b. ca. 1825, d.?) 6. Nancy Caldwell (b. ca. 1831, d.?) 7. William Mc. Caldwell (b. ca. 1841, d.?) 8. ____ Caldwell (Male) (b. ca. 1800, d.?) 9. ____ Caldwell (Female) (b. ca. 1810, d.?) I have looked at the database at your website. I see that you list an Absolem Caldwell, son of Andrew Caldwell (b. 1817 near Rogersville, TN) and Hulda Dinsome (b. 1821!). By the dates, I am wondering if the Andrew you list might be a brother or uncle of my Hugh. The similarity of my Hulda Caldwell (b. 1821) and your Hulda Dinsome Caldwell (b. 1821) seems much more than coincidence! Can you shed any light here? Any ideas?
