My 4x grandfather was William Caldwell who was married to Elizabeth "Betsy" (James) Caldwell. My understanding is they homesteaded 320 acres in Jasper County, GA in 1834. She was born in 1799; he died circa 1840 in a shipwreck. The had 7 children, one of whom was my 3x grandfather, Sharrad Caldwell, who was born in 1820 and died in 1884 in Garland County, ARK. I have quite a large tree of names, but little information about who went where. My family went from Ark, to Colo, back to Ark, and then to California in about 1953. It looks like a large share are in Tex, AĄGA. Does this sound like the same line of Caldwells?
